Valencia is the third largest and the most populated city of Spain which was founded by Roman rulers in 2nd century BC. The city derived its name from the Latin word “wa-lentia” that means valor. Jativa, situated on the southern region of Valencia, is the capital of La Costera. The Mediterranean climate characterized by warm summers, long autumns, rainy springs and mild winters, make Jativa fit for spending a quality vacation. Jativa was always famous in Roman history for its silk fabrics and paper manufacturing industry. The conservative atmosphere and traditional setting of this manorial town will surely attract history fans. The city comprises of some of the most impressive fortress that reflect its Spanish architecture. Cova Negra, a pre-historic cavern situated in Jativa, is the prime peninsular attraction here.

The city is strategically situated on the twin peaks of Monte Bernisa, in the southern region. Both the peaks are surmounted by Castle of Xativa. Other attractions of the city include Collegiate Church which was built in 1414; a Cathedral built during renaissance period, chain of churches, convents, town halls and other such structures that were built on Moorish pattern.
